The Tennis PEI schools program helps develop fundamental movement skills related tot he sport of tennis while increasing children’s knowledge and appreciation for the sport. Tennis PEI instructors work with the elementary school physical education teachers for a preferred two full weeks (in the span of 2-3 months) to deliver a school tennis program during phys ed classes. Equipment is provided. The school programs is also planned around the Rogers Rookie events that fosters learning how to play a game with support from coaches on the court during a 3-hour weekend time slot. This gives students an opportunity to put their skill into play and try the sport outside of the school setting if it is something they are interested in.
