“To create a positive, fun, entry-level competition opportunity for starter tennis players”
The Rogers Rookie Tour is a national program that is designed to bridge the gap between entry-level tennis and the provincial competitive junior circuit. This program encourages players to continue through the tennis pathway to become regular competitors and life long tennis enthusiasts.
Each player is guaranteed a minimum of three matches. These events provide a positive learning environment where youngsters develop and display their tennis and sportsmanship skills while competing against a variety of opponents. These types of events offer non-ranked or lower-ranked youngsters a fun-filled and exciting event with multiple opportunities to play without the fear of being eliminated.
The matches are played with slower red, orange and green balls on smaller courts. It is a fun way to start tennis and makes it easy for children to play the game, develop good technique and a love for the sport.
Each participant will receive swag items, including a Rogers Rookie Tour t-shirt.
