Tennis PEI is currently seeking candidates for two positions! Candidates are sought for the positions of Executive Director and Technical Director. Individual job postings with full job details below.

Job Posting – Technical Director – Tennis PEI

Section 1 – Position Overview

Position Title: Technical/Program Director – Tennis PEI

Reports to: Executive Director

Position Summary: The Technical/Program Director (TD) is responsible for the planning,
implementation, monitoring and evaluation of all coach and player development programs.
Key program areas as identified by the Executive Director and the PEI Tennis Board of Directors. The Technical Director will work with Tennis Canada, PEI schools, Sport PEI, and Member Tennis Clubs throughout the province.

Type of Employment: Part-time (Around 20 hours a week)

Work Location: The Technical Director will have access to an office at Sport PEI located
at

40 Enman Crescent, Charlottetown, PE C1E 1E6

Section 2 – Qualifications:

Education:
• Preference may be given to candidates with post secondary education, experience in
Sport Management or related disciplines.
• Candidates must have NCCP Level 3 certification.

Experience:
• Minimum 5 years of tennis coaching experience.
• Previous coaching with both junior and adult tennis players

Knowledge and Skill Base:
• An organized, reliable self-starter who can work independently
• An inspiring motivator who can nurture competitive skills and sportsmanship
• Working knowledge of Tennis Canada/Provincial Sport Association infrastructure and programs
• Interpersonal, communication and relationship building skills.

Section 3 – Duties and Responsibilities:

Involved in aspects of player development and recruitment. Organizing and implementing
Tennis Canada programs and events including (but not limited to) High Performance training,
Canada Games training, trips to compete out of Province, fun events, Roger’s Rookie Tour and
school tournaments. Financial accountability to the Executive Director, ensuring annual
operating budget targets are met. Provide leadership as tournament director for local
tournaments.

In consultation with the Executive Director, identify and participate in at least one annual
professional development program/activity that will enhance the knowledge and skills required for delivery of Coach/Player development programs.

Position Summary: The Executive Director is responsible for the strategic, fiscal, technical and operational leadership of the sport of tennis in PEI.

Type of Employment: Part-time (Around 20 hours a week)

Work Location: The Executive Director will have access to an office at Sport PEI located at

Section 2 – Qualifications:

Education:

Experience:
• Leadership, with demonstrated administrative experience in program
development, implementation, and assessment.
• Love of tennis, but professional coaching experience not mandatory

Section 3 – Responsibilities

The position includes involvement in all aspects of executive leadership, administration, financial management, strategic planning, marketing and personnel management for Tennis PEI. The Executive Director is accountable to a Board of Directors.

Executive Leadership – Accelerating the growth of tennis in PEI. Aligning programs with Tennis PEI’s strategic plan. Cultivating close working relationships with all stakeholders
and partners such Tennis Canada and the other Atlantic Provinces.

Administration – Maintaining efficient operations of Tennis PEI. Superior communication and interpersonal talents. Proficient in fundamentals of office administration such as information management, scheduling, client services, inventories, records retention, reporting. Competencies in relevant computer and web-based office applications and
social media.

Financial Management – Developing an annual budget and prepare all financial information and participating in the annual audit ensuring that all projects come within budget and in the time frame initially set by the Association.

Strategic Planning and Innovation – Participation in strategic plan development and execution in conjunction with Executive and Board. Ongoing review of strategies and
action plans with the Executive and Board on a quarterly basis.

Fundraising and Sponsorship – Sourcing and securing government funding, corporate
sponsorship and/or private sector funding.

Resource Development and Marketing – Creating and executing an annual media and
marketing plan and ensuring alignment with Strategic Plan.

Personnel Management – Hiring and supervising Tennis PEI staff.
