Tennis PEI is looking for members who are interested in being Board members for the upcoming year (annual meeting is scheduled for Saturday November 24). The constitution provides for an Executive Committee of a Past President, President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Secretary and Executive Director(non-voting) as well as regular board members. Executive Committee positions normally require a two-year commitment, while non-executive board positions are up for election each year. The Executive Committee would normally meet 9 – 12 times per year, while the full Board would normally meet 4-6 times per year.
Tennis PEI is hoping to attract passionate tennis enthusiasts with a variety of skills and backgrounds to become board members. Ideally, the board would be made up of both competitive and recreational players; both parents and non-parents; both men and women; both members with past board experience and those who can bring a new perspective to issues; and members from different areas of the Island who can provide different perspectives to the board.
Tennis PEI members who are interested in becoming a member of the board should contact Don Cameron, Executive Director Tennis PEI (email@example.com). Interested persons should provide a short summary of their experience with tennis (both as a player and/or board member) and other relevant information as to how they hope to contribute to the Board by September 30, 2018.
