AGM 2018 – Date to be announced in September 2018 to the membership.

2017 President’s Report

This past year we maintained a healthy membership for Tennis PEI and looked deeper into ways we can increase tennis opportunities across the Island in the coming years. It was a year of continued change as well as profiling the possibilities of PEI, as we hosted both the Junior and Master Outdoor Atlantics in the summer. We also hired two part-time staff who started in April 2017.

I want to commend the Charlottetown Tennis Club who showed a strong season with 79 members which was up from 71 members in 2015 (and 60 members in 2016). We look forward to seeing them grow even more as they prepare this winter to develop junior and adult opportunities for the 2018 outdoor season.

It was great to see tennis programming take place in Charlottetown, Stratford and Cornwall and we look forward to working with more tennis communities in 2018. Our committee for ‘Building Tennis Communities’ has been actively seeking ways to provide support to municipalities and partners with tennis courts, based on their unique needs.

Most recently, the Board has worked jointly with experienced facilitators to re-establish the vision, values and strategic directions of Tennis PEI. This will lead us into the next 5 years. We look forward to engaging our members into the new committees that will help us with our mission, which is “to advance the sport of tennis in Prince Edward Island for all levels of play” and be a valued sport in PEI.

I would like to personally thank the board members for their time and commitment. It has been such a positive experience working with people that share the same passion as I do for the sport here in PEI. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank our staff over the year for their hard work and dedication for the growth of tennis in PEI.

See you on the courts!

Daniel Arseneault
President, 2016-18
